Your Move: Thursday Morning Riddle
The Shakespeare Teacher is out. It’s your move.
Today’s challenge is the Thursday Morning Riddle. The answer is:
KEY
KEY is correct. Way to go, Bill!
Now, you write the riddle.
Entries should follow the same format as earlier riddles: four lines of anapestic tetrameter with rhyme scheme AAAA (all four lines rhyme). Riddles are written in the first person (i.e., from the point of view of “Key”). Semicolons are used to mark a change in word meaning. The word “Key” should not be in the riddle.
Entries are due by March 10, and a winner will be chosen after that time.
UPDATE: Contest won by Annalisa. See comments for all entries.

I am something you touch when you sit down to play;
Or perhaps you might sing me in F, C, or A;
You might use me to lock up when you go away;
I’m an isle among many, sometimes called a cay.

I am two of some islands who all have good weather,
If your townhome is locked you will use me to enter,
Teachers will use me to find the right answer,
And I wrote the words to the Star Spangled Banner.

you miss me when I fall through the holes in your pocket
I’m needed to open your precious necklace locket
you probably dont’ need me to enter a rocket
she’ll wave blatantly with me when being coquette

Thanks to all for participating.
Claudia has some great imagery in hers, and Kimi gets bonus points for referencing Francis Scott Key in her riddle. But the winner is Annalisa for coming the closest to the ideals of the Thursday Morning Riddle in rhyme, meter, and variety of word meaning.
Congratulations, Annalisa!
