Ran a search for “bacon poppers.”
Hmm. I should do that…
Bill, never underestimate the desperation of the thousands of high school students facing deadlines for their essays on Hamlet. A few hundred look online, and where better to go?

You know, ever since the riddle last Thursday, I’ve been hungry for poppers. Ah, the power of suggestion.
As for the Shakesepeare searches, I don’t see why this week should be any different from weeks past, particularly since I’ve been talking about Shakespeare a lot less than I used to.
People seem to be coming here looking for a map of the United States, which was linked to a post that also contained the names of five candidates currently running for president. I suspect that’s the culprit.
Not that I’m complaining about the extra traffic. Welcome to all!

i think the answer is they’re coming from ken jenning’s blog and forums looking for the map riddle you did that was linked to here:
http://www.ken-jennings.com/messageboards/viewtopic.php?p=23701&highlight=map#23701
at least, that’s how i found you, and it makes sense given the time and the topic. and i’ve been going through all your thursday riddles and enjoying them thoroughly =)
i just added you to my rss feed… i’m sure other ppl have too!

Kimi and K-Lyn, welcome!
I know a good bit of traffic is flowing from the Ken Jennings message board, but I’m not sure that’s the only reason. Ken linked here twice from the blog proper and I didn’t get nearly this much traffic. I would think more people would follow the blog links. Maybe the message board leads to more repeat visitors.
Well, however you got here, I’m glad you’re here.
